STEGODON Synthetic Winch Rope: Lightweight, Strong, and Easy to Handle

STEGODON's synthetic winch rope, available in various colors and sizes, is engineered for a variety of winches ranging from 9,000 lbs to 14,500 lbs. Made of 12 strands of braided ultra-tough nylon, it boasts an impressive breaking capacity of 23,809 lbs, much stronger than steel cable but weighing only one-third as much.

Covered with a UV and chemical-resistant nylon sleeve, the rope can withstand periodic wear, overheating, sunlight, and corrosion, effectively prolonging its lifespan. Importantly, this synthetic rope does not store kinetic energy under load, making it a much safer option compared to traditional steel cable.

Another key advantage is the rope's repairability – it can be tied back together in a knot on the trail, which is not possible with steel cable. However, it's important to note that synthetic ropes have a shorter lifespan and should be replaced more frequently, approximately every 12 months.

To ensure safe recovery practices, STEGODON recommends using a winch damper blanket. The last 5-feet of the rope also feature a sliding protective sleeve to warn the user that they are nearing the end of the rope.
